About Kathryn’s House, quality residential care since 1991
Kathryn’s House works under a philosophy of care that all residents shall live in a safe and comfortable environment. We believe that it is essential to promote independence and understand that all of our residents should be treated as individuals. Every resident living with us has a tailored care plan designed around their preferences and requirements. We welcome regular visits from family and friends, and we are conveniently located in the heart of Guildford near Farnham Road Hospital and the high street. Kathryn's House Facilities
Kathryn’s House is privately owned residential care home and is registered for a maximum of 29 users. We offer a wide range of care in pretty surroundings that are designed to feel like home. Our local Authority is Surrey County Council, and we have regular inspections to ensure our facilities are kept to a fantastic standard and we are also registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) that confirm that we have the facilities to be able to offer care for those with Dementia/Alzheimer's, mental health conditions, physical disability and sensory impairment.
Our location is close to local shops, near public transport and has a lift and wheelchair access. We welcome you to come and view our facilities by appointment, please just get in touch.
Rooms at Kathryn's House
The accommodation we provide at Kathryn’s House is designed to make our residents feel comfortable in their surroundings. We actively encourage residents to decorate their room with their own belongings and furniture to promote a sense of familiarity. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, and all rooms have ensuite toilet facilities. We have 25 single occupancy rooms and 2 couples/companion rooms. All rooms have a TV point and telephone point, and some rooms are pet friendly. We love to create a warm, homely atmosphere within our care home, whilst also allowing our residents the privacy and space of their own room.
Kathryn’s House Communal and Outdoor Areas
At Kathryn’s House we have a communal lounge where residents can relax together and meet with family and friends, and we also offer a quiet lounge too, for those that want privacy from visitors. Our goal is to make all residents feel as comfortable and at home as possible. At the rear of the house, there is a landscaped area where residents can sit or enjoy a spot of gardening too.
We also take our residents on frequent day excursions or trips outside the home as a way of encouraging more social interaction, physical and mental stimulation. Adam Fowler
Registered Manager
Our staff team is led by Adam Fowler, the Registered Manager, who joined Kathryn's House over 4 years ago.
Adam has completed his Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Social Care.
Kathryn's House achieved ‘Good‘ rating in a Care Quality Commission inspection in June 2018 & March 2022. Staff employed at Kathryn's House undertake regular training to ensure compliance and maintain good standards. This is evidenced by prestigious Investors in People Gold award which the home achieved in July 2021.
All our staff team have relevant training in Health and Social care or are working towards acquiring it.
We offer positions for carers, kitchen staff and laundry staff. If you have experience, it will be an added benefit. We are in Central Guildford near the Bus and Railway stations, very near the High Street.
